Akamai Servers caused global Shutdown of Internet Worldwide

According to Down Detector, Indian and worldwide services including Amazon, Instagram, Whatsapp, BSNL, SBI, HDFC Bank, Zomato, Diseny+ Hotstar Discord, Google Maps, Google Meet, Swiggy, Google and Amazon Web Services.

Gamers were also affected by this like Playstation Network, Steam, Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Valorant.

According to the reports this outage is not only eperience in India but globally by hundred thousands of users.

On this, Akami saids that, the problem is caused by problem with the Edge DNS service. "There is a problem wIth the Edge DNS service that we are aware of. We're looking into the situation right now.  Please contact Akamai Technical Support if you have any queries or are suffering any effects as a result of this issue. We are providing you with the most current information available, which is subject to changes, corrections, and updates, in the aim of saving time "During the downtime, the firm stated.

What is EDS DNS ??

Its a service that ensures that smooth and secure operation of websites apps and services. DNS is a service that connects to a srver and delivers the requested page to the user's devices by translating readable domain names to machine-readable IP addresses.

Akamai said it has implemented a fix for the issue, and based on current observations, the service is resuming normal operations.

And Akami assured that this outage is not because of any hacks to there system. 

But this outage was fixed in a couple of hours.
